The Regional Council for Unrecognized Villages Supports Residents and Rejects Disruption of Studies and Plan for a Separate Educational Authority
SadaNews - The Regional Council for Unrecognized Villages participated in a session held by the Wadi al-Sahara Council, attended by parents, to discuss the implications of the ongoing dispute with the Ministry of Education regarding students from unrecognized villages, and to hear the parents' views.
The council's president, Atiyah Al-Assem, along with the professional team, affirmed yesterday, Monday, the council's commitment to respecting and adopting the decisions of the parents, based on their right to determine the educational path for their children, in a manner that serves the students' interests.
Regarding calls for a strike, the council expressed its opposition to disrupting studies, warning of the repercussions on the educational process, especially in light of the existing shortage of teaching days.
The council also emphasized its firm rejection of any plan to establish a separate educational authority for the Arab community in the Negev, affirming that it will not allow any infringement on the rights of students from unrecognized villages or any impact on their educational future.
