Mutual Escalation: Israel Strikes and Iran Responds with Missiles

SadaNews: The region is witnessing escalating military tension between Israel and Iran, as Channel 13 reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes targeting 20 locations within Iranian territory. These strikes occurred while Iran continues to launch batches of missiles towards Israel, leading to a series of interception and air defense operations.

For its part, Israeli radio reported that air defense systems intercepted a batch of 7 Iranian missiles directed towards the Ashdod area south of Tel Aviv. Yisrael Hayom newspaper confirmed that 10 missiles were launched in the latest batch from Iran, all of which were intercepted, with damage recorded in 3 buildings in the West Bank but no casualties.

A missile was also reported to have fallen near the settlement of Itamar in the northern West Bank without causing any damage or injuries.

At the same time, Channel 12 clarified that extensive interception operations took place in southern Israel and the areas of the Dead Sea, Dimona, and Beersheba, while civil defense and ambulance teams moved to comb several locations after missiles and debris fell in Beit Shemesh west of Jerusalem and in the city of Beersheba in the Negev.

In the context of political developments, the Israeli army radio announced a forthcoming meeting of the small security cabinet later today to discuss security updates, amid anticipation of what the coming hours may bring in terms of decisions or additional responses.
