U.S. Official: We Did Not Participate in Israeli Strikes on Iran
SadaNews - An American official stated that the United States did not participate in the Israeli strikes carried out on Iran on Monday morning.
Axios reported that a U.S. military official said, "The United States did not participate in the Israeli strikes on Iran."
The American official told the site that the Israeli strikes were "relatively limited" in scope.
The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on military targets in central and western Iran on Monday morning, according to a statement from the Israeli army.
These strikes come in response to an Iranian missile attack against Israel, which was the first since the ceasefire on April 8.
The ongoing exchange of fire could undermine negotiations between the United States and Iran and possibly lead to the resumption of war.
U.S. President Donald Trump had asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hours before the strikes to refrain from retaliating.
In this context, Iranian media reported that explosions were heard in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Kermanshah.
Iran also closed its airspace around Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran following the strikes.
