The Israeli Army Attacks the Southern Suburb of Beirut

SadaNews - The Israeli army announced that the air force carried out a strike on what it described as a "high-value target" in the southern suburb of Beirut, based on intelligence directives.

The strike targeted a building in the Tahwita al-Ghadir area of the southern suburb.

In this context, Israeli Channel 14 quoted a security official saying that the attack is more related to the targeted site than the nature of the target itself.

Additionally, the Israeli army radio stated that military authorities have asked residents of northern Israel to prepare for the possibility of shelling from Hezbollah in the coming hours.

Conversely, Israeli Channel 12 reported that there has been no change so far in the instructions for the home front applicable in northern Israel.

Following the attack, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the army carried out strikes, under the directives of Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, targeting what it described as terrorist headquarters in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital.

The office stated that the attacks came in response to Hezbollah firing towards Israel.

For its part, the Israeli army announced that it is attacking the "infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah" in the southern suburb of Beirut.

In a related context, the Walla website reported from sources that the Israeli occupying army began to carry out limited ground operations on the outskirts of the city of Nabatiyeh in southern Lebanon to uncover militants and explosive devices.

The site added that the Northern Command is pushing towards destroying Hezbollah's military infrastructure in the Nabatiyeh area. The sources told the site that the military institution estimates that the fall of Nabatiyeh, which is considered one of Hezbollah's largest strongholds in Lebanon, would have a significant impact given that Beirut enjoys American protection.
