New Medical Evacuation via Rafah Crossing Involved 97 Individuals
SadaNews - On Sunday, the Red Crescent Society teams participated in a new medical evacuation towards the Rafah border crossing, involving 97 individuals, including 34 patients and 63 companions. This was part of their ongoing efforts to facilitate the exit of patients for treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
The gathering process started from the Al-Mawasi field hospital operated by the society in Khan Younis, where medical and rescue teams were responsible for organizing and supervising the gathering process, accompanying the patients, and providing them with initial care to ensure their safe and organized transfer to the crossing point.
This operation was carried out within arrangements and coordination led by the World Health Organization, while the Palestinian Red Crescent teams participated in the field and humanitarian aspects, including medical preparation and follow-up, and providing ambulatory support to the patients during the gathering and transportation process.
The society confirmed that its teams continue to perform their humanitarian duties around the clock despite the difficult field conditions and the immense pressure on the health system, amidst a growing number of patients needing evacuation and treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
