The Government Communication Center Monitors the Key Interventions Executed by the Government Last Week
SadaNews: The Government Communication Center issued a report today, Sunday, highlighting the most important developmental and reform interventions implemented by the Palestinian government during the past week (24/5/2026–6/6/2026), which are as follows:
Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa discussed with a delegation from Khan al-Ahmar ways to enhance the resilience of citizens and Bedouin communities in the face of the dangers of forced displacement and attacks from the occupation and settlers. He also discussed with the Red Cross support for the health sector and the conditions of prisoners in occupation jails, calling for intensified international pressure to stop violations against them.
Mustafa met with a parliamentary delegation that included representatives from British parties to discuss enhancing joint cooperation in light of Britain’s recognition of the Palestinian state and its contributions to support programs for the Palestinian people and to resume support for "UNRWA".
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates discussed with the European Institute for Peace (EIP) the developments of the political situation in Palestine, emphasizing the importance of enhancing international support for Palestinian rights and ending the occupation.
The ministry also affirmed its support for the UN Secretary-General in facing Israeli pressures related to the UN report that placed Israel on the list of entities accused of committing sexual violence in conflict zones, condemning the continuation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip accompanied by killings, destruction, and violations of international law and humanitarian law.
For its part, the Ministry of Social Development implemented a package of humanitarian interventions and services in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in partnership with supporting institutions, targeting the most vulnerable families and needy groups. In terms of humanitarian and food support, 30,526 families in the West Bank benefited from food and non-food parcels and shopping vouchers with an estimated value of 86,250 shekels. Furthermore, the interventions for Eid al-Adha in the West Bank and Gaza included the distribution of more than 21,600 shares of sacrificial meat, 1,300 food and relief parcels, and 2,170 sets of Eid clothing, vouchers, and clothing, in addition to about 19,700 bags of flour. In Gaza, 27,892 beneficiaries received various food assistance, and 6,566 beneficiaries received non-food assistance that included Eid clothing and health and educational parcels, among others. In the field of social protection, 131 interventions were implemented for the protection of women in the West Bank, while 8,491 beneficiaries in Gaza benefited from psychological support services, consultations, and follow-ups for cases of violence.
The interventions also included 160 interventions for childhood and 118 for juveniles in the West Bank, and 99 children in Gaza benefited from multiple protection services. In the orphans file, 877 orphans in the West Bank and 6,142 beneficiaries in Gaza benefited from sponsorship, food assistance, Eid clothing, and more.
Interventions were implemented in areas concerning persons with disabilities (49 interventions in the West Bank), the elderly (66 interventions), and health insurance through 145 services, in addition to 37 interventions in nurseries and 7 interventions in economic empowerment. The ministry continued to support charitable associations and partner institutions through interventions, community initiatives, and training, which enhance the social protection system and serve the most needy groups.
The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), granted 620,000 shekels to 280 beneficiaries from Ramallah, Al-Bireh, and Jerusalem within the framework of a project for the development of field and fodder crops funded by the Danish government, and signed an agreement with the village council of Al-Jadida to establish a public park covering an area of 30 dunums south of Jenin.
It also executed, in partnership with the European Union, Oxfam, the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development, and Al-Baraka Insurance Company, a field visit to beneficiaries of agricultural insurance services in Jenin.
In the field of livestock, 70 women from Abu Dis, Shawika, Farakha, and Taqoumia were trained as part of a project funded by FAO. Also, in partnership with the Land Research Center and in cooperation with the village council of Beit Al-Rosh Al-Fouqa, agricultural equipment and tools were distributed to 22 farmers south of Hebron, and 4,600 fruit trees were planted for 40 farmers in Silwad, Beit Luqia, Beitillu, and Deir Ammar as part of a reforestation project funded by Danish Islamic aid managed by the Cooperation Foundation and executed by the Land Research Center.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing began implementing the rehabilitation project of Wadi Al-Badhan–Far'a Street and completed the rehabilitation of Khallat Al-Mi–Um Al-Safa–Yatta road in Hebron, and executed maintenance works using cold asphalt on the road network in Qalqilya Governorate.
In the Gaza Strip, the delivery of 160 temporary shelter units and an additional 91 units in Al-Breksat camp was completed, along with the supply and installation of 76 bathrooms in the shelter centers.
Regarding rubble removal in cooperation with "UNDP" and the partner entities, more than 711,000 tons have been collected, transported, and treated, including the crushing of 163,642 tons and the production of 22,000 tons of fine concrete and the use of 148,065 tons for road and infrastructure improvements, along with the opening and cleaning of more than 114,000 meters of roads and executing more than 21,000 workdays, providing 383 temporary job opportunities. The damage assessment work continued to include 135,020 buildings, documenting damages to 26,645 of them.
The Minister of Interior participated in meetings and field visits in Hebron Governorate as part of an expanded government delegation, including the provincial advisory council, the Directorate of Interior, the security institution, and Palestine Polytechnic University, where developmental, service, and security needs were discussed, emphasizing the development of performance and enhancing partnership and coordination to serve citizens.
On the ground, the police arrested 752 wanted persons, including 5 classified as dangerous, executed 1,090 judicial warrants, dealt with 33 drug-related cases, and managed 260 various incidents and crimes.
The Civil Defense also executed 373 firefighting missions and 74 rescue missions, issued 176 permits for industrial facilities and activities, inspected and licensed 193 elevators, and conducted 629 public safety rounds. The customs control also followed up on 62 cases of tax and customs evasion and monitored markets, confiscating 4.1 tons of non-compliant or expired goods.
The Ministry of Health issued a statement warning of the worsening crisis of medicines and medical consumables, asserting that the lives of more than 4,000 cancer patients and thousands of kidney dialysis patients are at risk. It noted the depletion of 726 pharmaceutical and medical consumable items, including 180 essential medicines and 50 cancer medications.
The ministry affirmed that the continued detention of clearance funds threatens the collapse of health services, calling on the international community for urgent intervention and support for the health sector.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced the availability of scholarships in Romania for the academic year 2026-2027 for bachelor's and postgraduate degrees in various specialties. Meanwhile, the minister conducted a tour of educational institutions in Hebron Governorate and discussed with the Union of Workers in Palestine Technical University–Khadouri ways to support the university and ensure its continuity.
The ministry also concluded the national campaign for guidance and orientation for secondary school students for the 2025-2026 academic year, benefiting more than 69,000 male and female students from 954 schools, including more than 13,000 students who participated in guidance days from 220 schools. The ministry, in partnership with the Teacher Creativity Center, completed 48 school initiatives as part of the social-emotional learning project for the year 2025-2026, and announced the details of the secondary school exam for Gaza students within its efforts to ensure educational continuity and enable students to sit for the exams.
The Ministry of Local Government inaugurated the Mas'ha Park project in Salfit Governorate with funding from the French Development Agency (AFD) amounting to 308,000 euros and delivered a "Paher" vehicle equipped with a hydraulic hammer to the Kafriyat Municipality in Tulkarem Governorate funded by the Ministry of Local Government through the road transport fees program.
It also oversaw the handover procedures in Dura Municipality and held meetings with elected local authority heads in Hebron Governorate to emphasize adherence to laws and regulations and to enhance trust in local institutions, alongside inspecting the municipalities of Hebron and Halhul to assess their needs and challenges.
The minister emphasized the importance of the German support provided to the local governance sector during a meeting with a senior German official and called for expanding the scope of this support.
The Minister of Industry continued his meetings with private sector representatives in Hebron Governorate, where he discussed with the advisory council, the Businessmen Forum, and the Northern Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry the most prominent challenges and needs, primarily the establishment of an industrial zone in Hebron city, reviewing the ministry's efforts in protecting national products and enhancing their competitiveness through anti-dumping, mandatory local products, import substitution programs, and the development of industrial zones.
In terms of services and oversight, the ministry issued two licenses for the establishment of new industrial facilities and one operation license for the first time with an investment of 528,000 Jordanian dinars, providing 17 job opportunities, renewed 14 industrial licenses, implemented 22 inspection rounds, and issued an accreditation certificate for a laboratory, and formed a technical committee to review the quality file, as well as dealt with two complaints.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications continued its efforts in enhancing traffic safety and field oversight, conducting inspection rounds to follow up on the commitment to the new public transport fare, receiving and addressing 75 new complaints. The transport fares were reduced by 50% from the previous increase, ending the crisis of Birzeit University line and restoring public transportation to normal, alongside meetings with transport unions in Hebron to develop services. Efforts also included enhancing institutional cooperation in Hebron Governorate, licensing 20 agricultural tractors in Halhul as part of an expansion campaign to areas adjacent to settlements to support farmers' resilience, among other services.
The Ministry of National Economy, in partnership with Enabel (the Belgian Development Agency), the European Union, and Switzerland, launched a support pathway for micro and small enterprises within the "Sawa 2" project, and organized a workshop on the Palestinian competition law to enhance the business environment in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program. The ministry conducted 67 inspection rounds, confiscated and destroyed 81.5 tons of spoiled products, issued 15 commitments and legal notifications for violators, and handled 39 consumer protection complaints, withdrawing 16 samples for laboratory testing.
It also registered 20 companies and provided 158 services to companies, registered 25 new traders and provided 48 services in the commercial registry, issued 272 import licenses and 15 foreign trade dealing cards, 21 certificates of origin, and completed 43 commercial transactions with Turkey, alongside the registration of 29 trademarks and the provision of 99 intellectual property services.
The Minister of Culture visited the towns of Yatta, Al-Fawwar, and Samu as part of the ministerial delegation to Hebron Governorate, emphasizing support for cultural projects and enhancing the resilience of citizens.
In the governorates, the ministry organized cultural and heritage activities for children in Bethlehem, and a storytelling event in Qalqilya within the "Tales Blossom in the Schools of the Homeland" project, while Salfit witnessed workshops in positive parenting and heritage and expressive arts, alongside a poetry meeting via video conferencing that brought together poets from inside Palestine and the governorates of Salfit and Hebron.
The Energy and Natural Resources Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Palestine Polytechnic University to install a 100 kW solar power system and enhance collaboration in training and capacity building in renewable energy, contributing to reducing electricity consumption and strengthening sustainability. It also participated in the advisory council meeting for Hebron Governorate to discuss developing electrical infrastructure, expanding the use of renewable energy, and improving services provided to citizens. In the framework of supporting energy security, the authority granted a temporary license to establish a solar energy project with a capacity of 990 kW in the Aaskar region of Nablus Governorate, expected to supply electricity to about 350 families via the Northern Electricity Distribution Company network, enhancing investment in the renewable energy sector.
For its part, the Ministry of Labor graduated 255 male and female students from the Dura vocational training center, trained 120 youth under the "Bridges of Hope" project in Jenin, and delivered 13 entrepreneurial projects as part of the "Excellence" program, in addition to providing about 200 job opportunities through employment programs under the "TAJ II" project. The ministry also disbursed the 22nd payment to 424 women beneficiaries from Gaza stranded in the West Bank worth 296,000 shekels. In the field of inspection and occupational safety, it executed 48 visits covering 294 male and female workers, and recorded 14 work injuries, while the compliance rates were 83% for providing personal protective equipment, 77% for professional requirements, and 86% for wearing personal protective equipment.
The Palestinian Employment Fund continued to support economic recovery by signing 424 work contracts for 590 beneficiaries under the "A Path Toward Economic Resilience" project, collecting 2,757 m³ of waste in Gaza to increase the total to 26,153 m³, and completing the procedures for approving and disbursing business recovery grants in Gaza and the West Bank.
The General Authority for Civil Affairs teams continued to implement their field and humanitarian interventions around the clock to support citizens and institutions, enhancing their resilience and alleviating the effects of closures and field procedures. In Ramallah and Al-Bireh, an agricultural tractor was retrieved for a citizen from Beitillu after its confiscation by the occupation army, in addition to coordinating the repair of water lines in the western Lebanon and Ras Karkar.
In Hebron, needs for the Ibrahimi Mosque were secured, coordination was made for workers to enter for restoration works, and overseeing the burial of a deceased in Al-Eizariya, maintenance of a main water line west of Dura, and receipt and distribution of dual-use chemical materials for gold factories, in addition to enabling farmers to access their lands in Halhul. In Bethlehem, roads closed by occupation forces in Hussan were opened.
In Jenin, approval was granted to remove dirt barriers in Zabuba and reopen its roads, maintenance of an internet line in Al-Zahra neighborhood, and transfer of a medical case from Bartaa, while in Nablus the water line near the Deir Sharaf checkpoint was repaired.
In Qalqilya, agricultural and service interventions via the Habla and Tsofim gates included electrical and water repairs and the entrance of supplies, fodder, and diesel services for water wells, addressing the conditions of citizens behind the wall, alongside the maintenance of the electricity network in Azoun.
In Jericho and the Jordan Valley, approval was obtained to till agricultural lands in the Al-Hamra area for one week, including lands that have not been tilled for three years.
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs continued its efforts in international advocacy and national policy development and women empowerment, welcoming the UN Secretary-General's report that kept the occupation forces among the parties suspected of committing sexual violence related to conflicts, affirming the continuation of documenting violations and enhancing international accountability.
It also continued, in partnership with the National Library, working on establishing the National Archive for Palestinian Women, held a meeting to develop the work of gender units in government institutions and the security sector, and launched a fact sheet on the violations faced by Palestinian children on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression.
The Environmental Quality Authority conducted 38 monitoring and inspection rounds on industrial facilities, followed up on 13 environmental complaints, granted 4 environmental approvals for industrial projects and water infrastructure, and issued 13 permits for importing chemical materials.
It conducted field measurements following a waste fire west of Hebron, showing that pollutant levels are within normal rates. On the international level, during the meetings of the Global Environment Facility at Uzbekistan, it discussed enhancing cooperation and funding for environmental and climate projects, informing the United Nations Environment Program about Israeli violations against the Palestinian environment.
Additionally, it issued, in partnership with the Central Bureau of Statistics, a statement on the occasion of World Environment Day, and conducted awareness and training activities to enhance environmental awareness and the management of camps and environmental corners.
The Ministry of Justice provided 7,444 services for transactions, including certificates of non-conviction and certifications of powers of attorney during May, 80 of which were processed through the "Hukumati" application. Additionally, it issued 826 certificates of non-conviction in the southern governorates.
It also concluded specialized training in the use of digital media for gender issues to enhance the skills of the support team for the gender unit, while the Minister of Justice highlighted the importance of building awareness and establishing justice to serve the national project during his meeting with the head of the National Guidance and Moral Authority.
The minister participated in the "Our Blood is One" campaign for blood donation in support of the needs of patients and injured individuals in the Gaza Strip, enhancing the national blood stock.
The Official Gazette issued issue number (238) of the "Palestinian Facts," publishing all the legislation contained within it via the electronic reference of the official gazette to facilitate citizens' access to and review of it.
It also issued a set of legal booklets containing the laws and their amendments, most notably Law No. (7) of 2000 on labor, Law No. (16) of 1960 on penalties and its amendments, and the revolutionary penal law of the Palestine Liberation Organization of 1979 and its amendments, made available electronically via its official website.
The office discussed graduation projects for the second batch of students in the specialized diploma in legislative drafting and analysis, which it implements in partnership with the Independence University.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities conducted more than 15 field rounds targeting 75 heritage and tourist sites, recording 32 abuses against cultural heritage sites, and examined 64 seized artifacts. In terms of services, the ministry received 197 building permit applications and completed 127 requests, while 31 requests' fees were paid via the "E-SADAD" platform. Key activities included launching a partnership with Hebron Municipality to prepare a national plan for developing the old town and activating tourism in it, and enhancing coordination with the tourism and antiquities police to support domestic tourism.
The ministry also completed in Nablus the installation of quick response QR Code signs in heritage sites, carried out excavation and maintenance works, launched environmental trails, welcomed more than 80 cyclists from Palestinians in the interior during their visit to Bal'ama Tunnel, and organized a tourist trail in Tulkarem to introduce historical sites, alongside completing the documentation, recording, and demarcation of archaeological and heritage landmarks in the villages of Al-Janiya and Ras Karkar as part of efforts to preserve the Palestinian cultural heritage.
