Young man dies in a traffic accident in Carmel
SadaNews - Young man Hukm Muhammad Abdullah (26 years old) from Kfar Manda died early this Sunday morning in a horrific traffic accident between a vehicle and a motorcycle near the Hamum intersection in the Carmel area.
According to medical teams, a report was received indicating that a motorcycle was hit by a vehicle on the 784 highway near "Hanaton". Medical teams rushed to the scene and provided first aid to the injured, but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful, leading to his death being declared at the site.
The occupation police claimed that they had opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
Available data indicates a record increase in the number of traffic accident victims from the Arab community during the year 2024, with a rate of 62% compared to the previous year.
A total of 159 deaths were recorded in 2024, compared to 98 cases in 2023, representing a sharp and alarming increase.
According to a report published by the so-called "State Comptroller" in May 2024, Arab citizens represent about 30% of traffic accident victims over the past decade, even though their percentage of the total population does not exceed 20%, which means that their death rate exceeds their population representation by one and a half times.
