Earthquake of 5.5 Magnitude Hits Western Iran

SadaNews - The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center announced on Monday that a strong earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck wide areas in western Iran.

According to preliminary data released by the center and reported by the news website "Shafaqna", the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a shallow depth of about 10 kilometers below the surface, which explains why residents in the surrounding areas and neighboring provinces felt the tremor distinctly.

So far, there have been no official reports from Iranian authorities or rescue teams regarding any casualties or significant material damage to infrastructure, while field assessment teams have begun examining the areas near the seismic epicenter to ensure the safety of residents.

Various regions in Iran have experienced consecutive seismic tremors over the past few days.
