Rubio Reveals Circumstances Surrounding the Death of an American Soldier in Iraq
SadaNews - Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the incident that resulted in the death of an American soldier in northern Iraq last Saturday was an "accidental incident," and that the American soldier was injured while dismantling an Iranian drone that had been shot down.
Rubio told reporters: "Nothing about military work is safe. It is inherently a risky job, and we are grateful for the presence of these heroic Americans in uniform who serve our country."
Regarding the Iranian attack that killed two American soldiers on Friday in Jordan, Rubio said: "One missile breached the air defenses and we shot down almost all the missiles. One missile got through... It is devastating."
With this, the number of American soldiers who have died in the ongoing war with Iran for nearly five months has risen to 17 soldiers.
