Iran: Diplomatic Communications with America Continue Through Intermediaries

SadaNews: Tehran announced on Monday that diplomatic communications with Washington via intermediaries are still ongoing, despite U.S. military strikes.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqei stated in a press conference in Tehran, "We have been informed through intermediaries, and we have received messages, without going into details, but what is important is that the diplomatic apparatus has been active in recent days, and ideas have been conveyed to us through some intermediaries."

U.S. forces have launched attacks on Iran for the ninth consecutive day on Monday, while the confirmed number of U.S. military casualties in the renewed fighting has risen to three, increasing concerns about navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a statement that it has initiated a "new wave of strikes" aimed at "undermining" Iran's ability to attack commercial vessels in the vital maritime corridors of the strait.

CENTCOM mentioned in a statement that the U.S. military targeted Iranian coastal surveillance and air defense facilities.

The statement added that the strikes targeted Iranian military command centers, air defense sites, coastal surveillance, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communication networks.

For its part, the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that U.S. missiles hit several Iranian cities early on Monday.
