Washington announces the start of implementing "experimental zones" in 3 Lebanese villages as part of the agreement between Tel Aviv and Beirut

SadaNews - Washington has announced the beginning of the implementation of "experimental zones" in three villages in southern Lebanon as part of the "framework agreement" signed between Tel Aviv and Beirut at the end of June last month, under which the Israeli army will gradually withdraw from these areas in exchange for the entry and redeployment of the Lebanese army.

The U.S. State Department stated that three "experimental zones" in southern Lebanon have been activated, in accordance with the understandings reached between Lebanon and Israel.

It indicated that "experimental operations began in the towns of Feron, Sarifa, and Zohtr al-Gharbi in southern Lebanon under the tri-party agreement and under the supervision of the military coordination group for Lebanon."

This comes simultaneously with the presence of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Washington, ahead of his scheduled meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
