Trump: We dealt a very strong blow to Iran again tonight

SadaNews - President Donald Trump stated that the latest military strikes directed at Iran were carried out in honor of the American soldiers who were killed in recent days.

Trump told reporters upon his return to Washington after attending the World Cup final, "We hit them very hard again tonight, and we did it in honor of the great patriots, probably three of them, they are probably three," referring to the soldiers who were killed so that "Iran cannot acquire nuclear weapons."

The Washington Post quoted an American official saying that the United States is planning for a wider war against Iran.

The newspaper reported, citing the official, that the United States is on the brink of returning to a full-scale war with Iran after several of its soldiers were killed.

According to the official, described by the Washington Post as knowledgeable about the internal discussions of the American administration, the Pentagon is increasing the number of military aircraft in the Middle East.

The U.S. military announced on Monday the execution of strikes against targets in Iran for the ninth consecutive night.

U.S. Central Command stated in a statement: "Today, for the ninth consecutive night, a new wave of airstrikes against Iran at 7 PM Eastern Time."

The statement added: "These strikes will continue to undermine the military capabilities that Iran uses to attack commercial ships and civilian sailors passing through the Strait of Hormuz."

The United States stated on Sunday that it had conducted assaults for the eighth consecutive night against Iran after earlier announcing the deaths of at least two American soldiers in Jordan.

The U.S. military confirmed the death of a third soldier in the past few days, stating that one military was killed on Saturday in northern Iraq, where U.S. military bases are located, during a controlled explosion of what Central Command described as unexploded ordnance aboard an Iranian strike drone that was shot down.

The United States and Iran have intensified the exchange of attacks since the collapse of a temporary ceasefire agreement a few days ago and the escalating conflict over control of the Strait of Hormuz, raising the possibility of a return to full-scale war.
