The Latest in the Region.. Golden Wheat Mills Announces Completion of 6 Development Projects to Enhance Production Performance and Operational Capacity

SadaNews - Golden Wheat Mills has announced the completion of modernization and development work to increase the mill's production capacity and maintain the quality of its products, as part of the company's strategic plan to invest in developing infrastructure and control, production, and packaging systems. This plan has been implemented through 6 different projects over the past three years. All these projects aimed to enhance the mills' capability to become the most advanced in the region, which positively reflects on the company's ability to provide more stable, homogeneous, and quality products according to international standards, thanks to high milling and manufacturing technologies and modern management and storage systems.

In this context, the Chairman of the Board [Mr. Zahir Adli Al-Attout] stated:
These projects align with the company's vision for sustainable investment and support for the national economy, saying: "We believe that investment in technology and infrastructure is the foundation of sustainable industrial growth. What has been achieved today is the result of long-term planning and a clear vision aimed at enhancing Palestinian food security and providing local products that match imports in quality and standards."

The projects were carried out under the supervision of a management and technical team from the company along with a selection of global companies and experts, such as the Swiss company Buhler, which oversaw the development of the control system (PLC) and the blending systems for the wheat and flour scales to the S7-1500 series, enabling precise and flexible management of milling and blending phases, ensuring greater stability for the flour and achieving optimal results in baking and pastries.

The company has also managed to expand the packaging capabilities for production lines directed at the individual market by adding a production line with a capacity of 2.4 tons per hour from the Italian company ITALPACK, which features high automatic accuracy and significant production speed while maintaining weight and a tight sealing system that protects the bags during transport. As a result, the company can produce 3.4 tons per hour for the 1-kilo product, with 1 ton from the old line and 2.4 tons from the new line, thus enabling the company to meet the growing demand for its product in supermarkets.

The company automated the packaging lines using an accurate robot capable of arranging stock at a rate of more than 800 bags of flour per hour automatically, reducing human errors, health risks, and waste.
It also completed the development of storage and transportation by rehabilitating its warehouses to comply with international food safety standards and increasing storage capacity to reach 32,000 tons of dry wheat, ensuring protection of the wheat stock from moisture and thermal variations.

Additionally, the company updated the electrical transformers supplying electricity to the company from low voltage to medium voltage to reduce the likelihood of faults, extend the life of motors and equipment, and benefit from the cost difference as much as possible, noting that the company is currently implementing a project to build a solar power supply system, providing clean and safe energy.

The mills concluded their projects by opening a modern machining department, the first of its kind in the region, to provide turning, grinding, and smoothing (sandblasting) services for milling rolls using the latest machinery globally from the Spanish company Balaguer Rolls, with the service being made available for various companies and entities in the Palestinian market.

For his part, the General Manager of Golden Wheat Mills [Mr. Abdul Halim Suwais] stated:
"What we have done over the past three years represents a qualitative leap in the company's journey, as we have sought, by employing suitable human and financial resources, to build a modern production system that ensures the stability of flour quality and product diversity to meet market needs. These projects enhance our competitiveness and place Golden Wheat Mills in a leading position among the largest mills in the region and work to solidify its status as a pioneering national company in the food industries sector."
