Iran: No Ceasefire Talks as Long as Israeli-American Attacks Continue

SadaNews - The spokesman for the U.S. State Department, Ismail Baqai, downplayed the chances of reaching a ceasefire as long as Israeli-American attacks continue, according to the Iranian Students' News Agency today, Monday, adding that Iran will continue to defend itself.

Baqai stated, "There is no point in discussing anything other than defense and overwhelming retaliation against enemies," before reiterating that Tehran is not waging war with its neighbors, but must target "the facilities used by the aggressors" in a legitimate self-defense.

The spokesman denied that any Iranian attack had been launched against Turkey, Azerbaijan, or Cyprus, describing them as "attacks under a false flag."

The Russian news agency TASS reported today that Azerbaijani authorities said they have reopened their borders with Iran to shipping traffic.

The border crossings, which are among the shortest land routes connecting Iran to Russia, had been closed last week after Baku described an Iranian drone attack on the Nakhchivan region.
