Trump: The War in Iran Has Mostly Ended

SadaNews - US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the war with Iran has "largely ended," expressing his desire to control the vital Strait of Hormuz.

In an interview with CBS, he said, "I believe the war is nearly over... The Iranians have no naval or air forces, and no communications."

He also added that the United States is "a lot ahead" compared to the timeline he initially estimated, which ranged from four to five weeks.

When asked about the new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said, "I have no message for him. None at all." The US President added that he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei, but did not provide further details.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, which carries about 20% of the world's oil production and is considered one of the most important maritime routes in the world, Trump indicated that ships currently pass through it, but he said he is "thinking about controlling it."

He also warned Iran, saying, "They shot at all their targets, and it is better not to take any reckless actions, otherwise, it will be the end of that country."

About 10 ships have reportedly been attacked in or near the Strait of Hormuz since Iran shut down this vital waterway in response to US and Israeli strikes that began on February 28 against Tehran, according to data analysis groups.

The attacks, which continued throughout the week following the outbreak of war, nearly completely halted maritime traffic through the strait, a vital route for transporting oil and other goods.
