Jerusalem Electricity: Power outage in parts of Hizma town is due to damage to one of the main cables

SadaNews - The Jerusalem District Electricity Company stated, "We have received from the monitoring and control center that the power outage occurring in parts of Hizma town was due to damage to one of the main cables during the installation of a lighting pole carried out by one of the contractors without prior coordination with the company, which led to damage to the network supplying areas such as Tablas, Al-Khatib housing, Al-Jaber housing, and the vicinity of Zahret Al-Madaen hall."

The company added in a statement, "Since the early hours of the incident, our technical teams have begun field work, where the damaged line was inspected using specialized technical equipment to accurately determine the location of the damage. The teams were able to pinpoint the malfunction's location shortly ago."

It confirmed that the teams immediately began repair work and replacing the damaged part of the network, and it is expected that electricity will be restored to the affected areas within the next two hours, once the necessary maintenance work is completed.

It also reiterated the necessity of prior coordination with the company before carrying out any excavation or installation work near the electrical network to avoid damaging infrastructure and the accompanying outages that affect citizens.
