Two Killed in Haifa and Rina Raise the Toll of Murder Crimes in Occupied Territories to 141
SadaNews - Two young men were killed early this Thursday in two separate shooting incidents that occurred within hours in Haifa and Rina. A young man was shot dead shortly after midnight in Haifa, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries, before another young man was shot dead less than three hours later in the town of Rina, which falls under Nazareth.
In Rina, 30-year-old Mohamed Abd Zidan was killed early this Thursday following a shooting incident in the town, marking a new crime added to the series of violent crimes plaguing Arab towns.
For its part, the police announced that they have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, indicating that the victim died from his injuries, with no arrests reported so far.
Meanwhile, young Jonathan William Khoury (18 years old) was killed, and two other young men were seriously injured in a shooting incident that occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday on "Hahagana" Street in Haifa.
The medical teams reported that they received a notification at 00:02 regarding the injuries of three people from gunfire. Upon their arrival, they provided first aid to the injured, who were approximately 25 years old, before they had to declare the death of Jonathan Khoury after efforts to save his life failed.
Since the beginning of this week, Arab towns have witnessed a new wave of crimes, resulting in the deaths of 10 people in a series of shooting incidents and vehicle bombings that took place in several towns and cities.
In the town of Qalansuwa, two people were killed in a shooting incident, while a young man was killed and his child injured in a vehicle explosion in the city of Jaffa.
In another incident, a young man from Jaffa was killed after a car bomb exploded in the city of Holon, while a shooting incident in the city of Taybeh in the southern Triangle area resulted in the death of a young man and serious injuries to another.
Additionally, two young men were killed in separate shooting incidents during the morning hours on Wednesday in the city of Shfar'am and the town of Basmat Tab'un in Galilee.
The toll of murder victims in the Arab community has risen since the beginning of this year to 141 killed, amidst the continued rise of organized crimes, while the Israeli government and police have shown reluctance to take effective measures to curb this phenomenon.
