The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Welcomes the UN Report on Occupation Against Children

SadaNews: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its welcome and support for the recently issued report by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry established by the United Nations regarding Israel's deliberate targeting of Palestinian children in the occupied Palestinian territory since October 7, 2023.

The General Secretariat affirmed that this international legal document reveals the extent of the war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide committed systematically and deliberately by the Israeli occupation, particularly against Palestinian children, including killings, injuries, arrests, torture, and violence, including sexual violence, as well as the siege and threats to the basic necessities of life by preventing food and medicine, and disrupting health and educational services, in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, treaties, conventions, and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The General Secretariat called on the international community and the United Nations to take the necessary legal and political measures to implement the recommendations outlined in the report, including ensuring the cessation of ongoing Israeli violations and crimes in the occupied Palestinian territory and holding those responsible accountable under international criminal law, and providing international protection to Palestinian children.
