Sources: Tight Measures on King Hussein Bridge After Uncovering Black Ticket Networks

SadaNews - Jordanian journalist Maher Abu Tair revealed an unprecedented meeting that took place last night at the Jordanian Ministry of Interior, attended by the ministry's officials, the management of the bridge, and security leaders. The meeting discussed the overall developments and files related to travel movement across the King Hussein Bridge.

According to Abu Tair, the meeting discussed a series of anticipated measures that will affect various organizational, security, and administrative aspects related to the operation of the bridge, confirming that the upcoming phase will witness unprecedented steps to address existing imbalances.

He noted that the relevant authorities managed to uncover networks operating in the sale of tickets on the black market through the travel platform to the West Bank. This was revealed after a security mission where three individuals were sent to buy three tickets from brokers, with the tickets being issued at the same time in exchange for additional amounts of money.

He added that evidence, correspondence, and communications related to this issue have been documented, expecting an official announcement of measures within the coming hours to combat these practices and apprehend violators.

In a related context, Abu Tair clarified that the Jordanian authorities have prevented more than 470 individuals from entering the kingdom after suspecting they were exploiting the booking system tied to the platform. He pointed out that some had been entering Jordan multiple times a day, while others recorded more than 30 entries in one month.

He explained that the new measures would include imposing tight surveillance on repeated entry cases by individuals heading to the duty-free market inside Jordan before returning again to the West Bank, as part of efforts to regulate transit movement and ensure fairness in obtaining tickets.
