Sheikh Discusses with Japanese Assistant Foreign Minister for Aid to Gaza Reconstruction Mechanisms to Improve the Humanitarian Situation

SadaNews - The Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Sheikh, discussed with the Japanese Assistant Foreign Minister for Aid to the Reconstruction of Gaza, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, mechanisms for Japan's contribution to improving the humanitarian and living conditions of the residents of Gaza, in light of the ongoing tragic situation and the Israeli aggression against our people.

This took place on Wednesday, in the presence of the political advisor at the Japanese representation, Mr. Yusuke Tabushi, and the assistant to the Assistant Foreign Minister for Gaza Reconstruction, Mr. Yuka Tenabi, in addition to the Ministerial Advisor to the President for Diplomatic Affairs, Dr. Majdi Khalidi, and the Head of the Vice President's Office, Ms. Aya Al-Mohisen.

During the meeting, Sheikh expressed his appreciation for Japan's positions and its continuous support for the Palestinian people, thanking Japan for its contributions in humanitarian and developmental fields, especially under the exceptional circumstances faced by our people. He reviewed the latest political developments at both local and international levels, highlighting the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, the increasing violations by the occupying forces, and the settlers' attacks in the West Bank, as well as the continued detention of settlement funds by the occupation, which has serious implications on financial and economic conditions and the Palestinian government's ability to meet its basic obligations.

For his part, the Japanese Assistant Foreign Minister for Aid to Gaza Reconstruction, Takeshi Okubo, confirmed his country's continuing support for the Palestinian issue, expressing Japan's commitment to continue providing support to the Palestinian people, which contributes to enhancing their resilience and improving the humanitarian, economic, and social conditions. He renewed his country's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving stability and supporting reconstruction efforts in Gaza and improving living conditions for Palestinians.
