German Defense Minister: Our Disagreements with Trump Are Not a 'Marital Crisis'

SadaNews: German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius considered that the disagreements with U.S. President Donald Trump are "not a marital crisis".

Commenting on Trump's statement that Germany "withheld a little kiss" regarding assistance in the war with Iran, Pistorius stated in an interview with the German magazine "Der Spiegel": "Refusing a little kiss can happen even in the best of relationships... and by the way, it can happen unintentionally as well. This is certainly not a marital crisis."

He added that he does not know what type of military support the United States expected from Germany.

Pistorius said he was used to the tone of the U.S. administration being "a bit rougher" when disagreements arise, adding: "We are not made of cotton candy."

He explained that efforts to strengthen the German army are not aimed at currying favor with Trump, but rather "based on a firm conviction, that is, for the security of Germany and its NATO partners, and not out of hope to buy love from anyone."

U.S. administration officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have issued sharp criticisms for NATO allies not providing support in the war against Iran. They recently described the position of some allies as "shameful."
