After Barrier Closures.. Two Women Forced to Give Birth Inside Vehicles Near Nablus

SadaNews - The organization Physicians for Human Rights reported that two women were compelled to give birth to their newborns inside two vehicles after they were unable to reach hospitals due to the closure of the barriers surrounding the city of Nablus by Israeli occupation forces.

The organization stated that the restrictions imposed on the movement of Palestinians and the closure of roads and barriers have caused a delay in the women reaching necessary medical care, leading to two births occurring under difficult conditions outside health facilities.

It warned of the serious humanitarian repercussions resulting from obstructing patients and pregnant women's access to medical services, asserting that freedom of movement and access to healthcare is a fundamental right that must be guaranteed.

It called for an end to the measures that hinder Palestinians from reaching hospitals and health centers, holding the occupation authorities responsible for the risks faced by civilians due to the ongoing closure of barriers and restrictions on movement.

Since this morning, occupation forces have continued to impede the work of ambulance crews by tightening procedures at military checkpoints around Nablus Governorate, which hinders the movement of ambulances and delays their arrival to patients and the injured.
