Settler Outburst and Accelerating Escalation in the West Bank Amid Warnings of an Imminent Explosion

SadaNews: The occupied West Bank is witnessing a dangerous escalation and a rapid increase in the pace of settler attacks, amidst a state of complete lawlessness and organized assaults that continue unabated across various governorates.

These ongoing developments affirm the warnings of Israeli military analyst Yossi Yehoshua, who stated that Israel is closer to an explosion of the situation in the West Bank than to a military confrontation with Iran, in light of the expanding scope of settler assaults and their direct targeting of citizens' properties and Islamic sanctities.

In this context, the Hebrew channel "Kan" reported that settlers carried out a series of intense attacks last night targeting several Palestinian villages in the West Bank, which included the burning of mosques and vehicles, and writing revenge slogans, as part of what is known as "price tag" attacks.

These assaults were evident in the town of Qusra south of Nablus, where settlers set fire to the town's mosque and wrote on its walls the slogan "Revenge for Benyahu," referring to the settler Benyahu Melt who was killed in the village of Tal. These violations did not stop there; they extended to the village of Kafr south of Tulkarem, where settlers burned a second mosque within a few hours, while surveillance cameras documented settlers igniting a fire near a house in the Officers' neighborhood east of Nablus.

Economic facilities did not escape this wave of violence, as settlers set fire to heavy equipment and machinery in the Ein Samia quarry near the village of al-Mughayyir northeast of Ramallah.

In parallel with this settler lawlessness, the Israeli occupation army continues its retaliatory and escalatory measures, as the spokesperson for the occupation army announced that military forces carried out the surveying and sealing of the homes of the perpetrators of the shooting attack in the village of Tal near Nablus, in preparation for their closure and demolition as part of a policy of collective punishment.
