Arab Bank Donates to Establish a Comprehensive Blood Bank at Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem

The Arab Bank recently offered its support to the Augusta Victoria Hospital (Al-Mutala) in Jerusalem by donating to establish and equip a comprehensive blood bank, in a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the hospital's readiness and developing the blood transfusion system, which contributes to improving the efficiency of healthcare provided to patients, especially in emergency cases. 

This initiative comes as part of the bank's commitment to support the healthcare sector through sustainable projects that contribute to the development of health facilities' infrastructure and enhance their capacity to provide healthcare services according to the highest standards, meeting the increasing needs for safe and quick blood transfusion services.

The new blood bank will provide a comprehensive system for preserving and managing blood units according to the best global practices, ensuring rapid response to emergency cases and continuous provision of blood to patients in need, especially cancer and blood disease patients, as well as those undergoing surgeries.

In his comments, Dr. Jamal Houri, the Regional Director for Palestine at the Arab Bank, stated: "The Arab Bank is keen to continue supporting the healthcare sector and enhancing its capabilities to provide essential services to citizens". He added: "Our support for establishing and equipping the blood bank at Al-Mutala Hospital reflects our commitment to contributing to enhancing the quality of medical services provided, enabling the hospital to meet patients' needs more efficiently, thus contributing to the provision of safe, sustainable healthcare for patients who depend on blood transfusion services."

For his part, Dr. Fadi Al-Atrash, the Executive Director of Augusta Victoria Hospital (Al-Mutala), expressed his pride in collaborating with the Arab Bank, which represents a strong commitment from the bank to support the elevation of health services as part of its corporate social responsibility. Dr. Al-Atrash explained that introducing comprehensive services related to the blood bank at "Al-Mutala" is an important step in enhancing the hospital's readiness and developing blood transfusion services, contributing to faster and more efficient responses to patients' needs, particularly cancer and blood disease patients. He added: "This project exemplifies the importance of collaboration with private sector institutions in supporting the healthcare sector, enhancing our ability to provide safe and high-quality healthcare, which directly improves patients' responses to treatment."
