Palestinian Statistics: Decrease in the Construction Costs Index for Buildings, Roads, and Water Networks
SadaNews - A decrease in the construction costs index for residential buildings
The prices of construction costs for residential buildings in the West Bank recorded a decrease of 0.22% during June 2026 compared to May 2026, as the construction costs price index for residential buildings fell to 120.93 compared to 121.19 during the previous month (base year 2013=100).
At the level of main groups, the prices of the machinery rental group decreased by 2.10%, the prices of raw materials group decreased by 0.44%, while the prices of labor costs and wages group recorded an increase of 0.44% during June 2026 compared to the previous month.
Decrease in the construction costs index for non-residential buildings
The prices of construction costs for non-residential buildings in the West Bank recorded a decrease of 0.20% during June 2026 compared to May 2026, as the construction costs price index for non-residential buildings fell to 119.73 compared to 119.97 during the previous month (base year 2013=100).
At the level of main groups, the prices of the machinery rental group decreased by 1.97%, the prices of raw materials group decreased by 0.42%, while the prices of labor costs and wages group recorded an increase of 0.44% during June 2026 compared to the previous month.
Decrease in the construction costs index for skeleton buildings
The prices of construction costs for skeleton buildings in the West Bank recorded a decrease of 11.0% during June 2026 compared to May 2026, as the construction costs price index for skeleton buildings fell to 118.92 compared to 119.05 during the previous month (base year 2013=100).
At the level of main groups, the prices of the machinery rental group decreased by 2.09%, the prices of raw materials group decreased by 0.73%, while the prices of labor costs and wages group recorded an increase of 1.43% during June 2026 compared to the previous month.
Decrease in the costs index for road construction
The prices of road construction costs of various types in the West Bank recorded a decrease of 0.38% during June 2026 compared to May 2026, as the general construction costs price index for roads fell to 125.49 compared to 125.97 during the previous month (base month December 2008=100).
At the level of main groups, the prices of equipment operation and maintenance costs decreased by 4.23%, the prices of raw materials group decreased by 0.95%, the prices of the machinery rental group decreased by 0.45%, while the prices of labor costs and wages group recorded an increase of 4.15% during June 2026 compared to the previous month.
Decrease in the general index for water network construction costs
The prices of water network construction costs in the West Bank recorded a decrease of 0.10% during June 2026 compared to May 2026, as the price index for water network construction costs fell to 132.86 compared to 132.99 during the previous month (base month January 2010=100).
In terms of water tank prices, the index recorded a decrease of 0.91%, as the index fell to 117.30 compared to 118.37 during the previous month, while water network prices recorded an increase of 0.21%, as the index rose to 139.94 compared to 139.64 during the previous month.
Decrease in the general index for sewage network construction costs
The prices of sewage network construction costs in the West Bank recorded a decrease of 0.11% during June 2026 compared to May 2026, as the index fell to 120.40 compared to 120.54 during the previous month (base month January 2010=100).
