A Young Man and Woman Die, 6 Injured in Road Accident Near Ashkelon

SadaNews - A young man and woman in their twenties lost their lives in a horrific road accident that occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday on Route 232 near the Kochav Michael area in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council, in the south of the country. The police have begun investigating the circumstances and causes of the accident.

According to preliminary data, the accident involved several vehicles, resulting in varying degrees of injuries among a number of young men and women who were present at the scene.

Medical teams reported that a 20-year-old woman sustained severe injuries, along with three young men aged between 20 and 25 who were also seriously injured, while another young man, 18 years old, suffered moderate injuries.

Ambulance teams from Magen David Adom and the Rescue Union worked to provide first aid to the injured at the scene before transferring them to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon and Asuta Hospital in Ashdod for further treatment.

For its part, the media department of the Rescue Union - Southern District reported that the teams that arrived on site dealt with a complex accident involving several vehicles, indicating that the death of a young woman was declared at the scene, while the death of another young man was later announced after attempts to save his life failed.

The paramedics added that six other injured individuals received treatment at the scene, including two women whose conditions were described as serious and four men who sustained moderate injuries, before being transferred to hospitals in the area for the necessary medical care.
