Another paramedic stated that he arrived at the scene after receiving the report, adding that after the firefighting teams controlled the fire, "two individuals suffering from severe burns were transported to us, and the medical teams had to declare their deaths at the scene." The Israeli Fire and Rescue Authority stated that its crews received a report at 17:31 about a private vehicle burning on Route 40, and upon their arrival, they began extinguishing operations and searching, during which they found two bodies near the burning vehicle. For its part, the Israeli police announced that it had opened an investigation following a report about a vehicle that caught fire and veered off its path on Route 40, confirming the discovery of two individuals inside it who were declared dead at the scene.
