The Israeli Fire and Rescue Authority stated that its crews received a report at 17:31 about a private vehicle burning on Route 40, and upon their arrival, they began extinguishing operations and searching, during which they found two bodies near the burning vehicle. For its part, the Israeli police announced that it had opened an investigation following a report about a vehicle that caught fire and veered off its path on Route 40, confirming the discovery of two individuals inside it who were declared dead at the scene. The police added that forces from its southern command, along with explosives experts and forensic investigators, arrived at the crash site and began gathering evidence and examining the circumstances, indicating that the conditions of the incident are still under investigation.
