Ben Gvir Storms Tuba Zangaria... Residents: "Leave, You Failure"

SadaNews - Israeli Minister of National Security, the extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, stormed the town of Tuba Zangaria in the Upper Galilee, in the northern part of the country, on Monday evening, amid a heavy presence of Israeli police forces and personal security guards.

Ben Gvir's incursion came under the pretext of "combating violence and crime," while he was confronted by the head of the local council, lawyer Mouaid Haib, along with a number of residents of the town, who demanded he leave as he toured the neighborhoods and homes under tight security.

Haib told Ben Gvir: "You are a failed minister... Go and look for your provocations in the settlements of Hebron with your hilltop youth. You have failed to protect citizens, you are a racist minister, and you are not welcome here, you must leave the village immediately."

According to eyewitnesses, there was a state of anger and tension in the town during the visit, which residents considered "provocative" and "performative," amid the ongoing spread of crime and violence within the Arab community, and rising criticisms of the performance of the Israeli police.

Ben Gvir had previously stormed Tuba Zangaria, accompanied by Knesset member Tzvi Sukot ("Religious Zionism"), as part of field tours he has been conducting in Arab towns since taking the National Security portfolio, which intensified amid talks of upcoming early elections.

This visit comes amid the escalation of organized crime and violence within the Arab community, and the continued negligence of the Israeli police to pursue criminal organizations and confiscate illegal weapons, in contrast to the intensification of pursuits against political activists and issues related to land and housing.

On May 12 of this year, Ben Gvir had also stormed the city of Sakhnin amidst extensive security deployment, where he was confronted by several residents who demanded he leave the city, while local figures accused him of attempting to exploit the crime issue for "political and electoral purposes," as murder crimes continue at a high rate within Arab towns.

Arab towns are witnessing a continuous rise in murder and gunfire crimes, amid repeated accusations against the Israeli government, the National Security Minister, and the police of failing to confront organized crime, with the number of victims continuing to rise since the current government took office.
