Um al-Fahm: 4 Injured, Including Two in Critical Condition and Another Seriously Injured in Shooting Incident

SadaNews - Four individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries, including two described as critical, due to a shooting incident that occurred today, Sunday, in the city of Um al-Fahm, amid a rise in organized crime and violence in the Arab community.

Local sources reported that the shooting targeted four men in the city, resulting in two sustaining critical injuries, a third with serious injuries, and a fourth with moderate injuries; they were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Israeli occupation police claimed that they have initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the crime, stating that they deployed a large force to the crime scene and began collecting evidence, amidst expectations that the motive may be criminal, according to a police statement.

This crime follows the murder of young man Ahmad Hafnawi, who was shot inside a truck in the city of Ramla, before the truck was set on fire, marking an increase in the toll of crime victims in the Arab community since the beginning of the year to 106 deaths.

It also comes two days after a protest rally held in Um al-Fahm against organized crime and police inaction, called by the popular committee in the city. Participants in the rally raised banners demanding the collection of weapons and fighting criminal gangs, while local figures accused the Israeli authorities of negligence and complicity with organized crime.

Arab towns are witnessing a continuous increase in murder and shooting crimes, amidst recurring accusations against the police and Israeli authorities of failure and negligence in confronting criminal organizations, with a widening circle of victims and the almost daily repetition of crimes.
