Vandalism and Theft Targeting the Social Services Department in Umm al-Fahm
SadaNews - The municipality of Umm al-Fahm condemned the assault on the offices of the Social Services Department that occurred over the weekend, which included acts of vandalism, breaking, and theft of property and equipment designated for serving needy families.
The municipality clarified in a statement on Sunday that the assailants damaged doors, furniture, and contents inside the offices, in addition to stealing laptops and aid that were prepared for distribution to underprivileged families ahead of Eid al-Adha.
The municipality confirmed that the assault not only affects public property but also directly impacts needy families that rely on the department's services, emphasizing that the social services teams continue their work to ensure uninterrupted aid delivery.
The municipality also stressed that it will follow up on the case with the relevant authorities to pursue those responsible for the incident, calling for the protection of public facilities and the preservation of institutions that provide essential services to the city's residents.
