Ramla: Young Man Killed in Shooting Inside Truck as Fire Breaks Out

SadaNews - Young man Ahmad Hafnawi was killed last night, Saturday, as a result of a shooting crime inside a truck in the Al-Jawaris neighborhood of Ramla, followed by a fire breaking out in the truck; thus, the death toll from crime that has ravaged the Arab community since the beginning of the year rises to 106 fatalities.

The circumstances surrounding the fire in the truck remain unclear, whether it was intentional by the perpetrators or a result of gunfire.

Medical teams reported that they received a notification at 18:46 about a man injured by gunfire in Ramla, and their crew pronounced him dead at the scene.

The medical team members stated, "We saw the injured man was unconscious and without pulse or breathing and suffered from severe gunshot wounds in his body; we performed medical checks but his injuries were critical and we had no choice but to declare his death."

The Fire and Rescue Authority stated that its crews received a report about a fire that broke out in a truck, and upon arrival, it became clear that a person was inside it, and they rescued him, while medical crews pronounced him dead.

The occupation police claimed that they have started investigating the circumstances of the crime, which they said was committed "against the backdrop of an ongoing blood conflict," without announcing the arrest of any suspects.

The police continue to neglect providing security and safety for Arab citizens amid the rampant crime and lack of deterrence, and this crime comes hours after a national demonstration was held in Jdeideh-Makr condemning the crime and the police's negligence following an attempt to murder the head of the local council in the town and his deputy.

106 Deaths in the Arab Community Since the Beginning of the Year

With this crime, the death toll from murder crimes in the Arab community since the beginning of this year rises to 106 fatalities, amid an unprecedented rise in gun violence and organized crime.

Arab towns are experiencing a continuous rise in murder and gunfire, amid ongoing accusations against the Israeli police of neglecting to confront organized crime, despite the widening circle of victims and the near-daily occurrence of such crimes.

Data indicates that the majority of crime victims in the Arab community since the beginning of the year have been killed by gunfire, while the state of personal insecurity within Arab towns continues, without tangible steps to halt the rampant crime and violence.
