Israeli Occupation Resumes Demolition of Homes in Al-Sir Village in the Negev

SadaNews - Israeli occupation machinery demolished the homes of several families in the unrecognized village of Al-Sir in the Negev region, southern Israel, this morning, Sunday, under the pretext of unlicensed construction.

The authorities had previously demolished about 320 homes out of 350 in December 2025, leaving hundreds of families homeless, living in harsh conditions amidst flooded tents, and the absence of electricity and infrastructure in the village.

Reports indicate that Israeli authorities have resumed home demolition operations in Al-Sir village, as part of a continuing policy that has affected the village recently. The village, which is one of the unrecognized Arab villages, has witnessed extensive and repeated demolition operations; dozens of homes have been demolished in different phases, including the demolition of about 40 homes in one of the campaigns, amid a heavy police presence and the use of force against the residents.

Local sources reported that the demolitions come in the context of a decision to evacuate the village, with hundreds of other homes threatened with demolition, putting about 1500 residents at risk of displacement.

Data confirms that this policy is part of a broader campaign in the Negev targeting unrecognized villages, through intensified demolitions aimed at relocating residents to specific towns.

According to recent documentation on the ground, demolition operations are ongoing, indicating that what is happening in Al-Sir village is not an isolated event but a continuation of a policy that has been in place for months.
