SadaNews - Today, Monday, Israeli occupation forces began demolishing 20 homes in Bartaa, southwest of Jenin.
The head of the Bartaa municipality, Ghassan Qabha, stated that the occupation court decided yesterday to demolish 20 homes in the southern area of the town, and that the occupation's bulldozers arrived at the entrance to the town in preparation for the demolition.
He confirmed that the municipality's lawyer and its residents submitted an appeal to the court today, which decided to reject it and proceed with the demolition of the 20 homes.
Qabha added that 8 homes were cleared of their belongings, while residents of the other homes designated for demolition refused to vacate their belongings and relocate them.
He explained that the 20 homes shelter approximately 100 people, and their demolition will displace them, leaving them without shelter.
The residents climbed onto the roofs of their homes threatened with demolition in Bartaa as the demolition vehicles from the occupation arrived.
