Death of Young Man Shot by Israeli Police in Galilee
SadaNews - A young man from the occupied Palestinian interior was killed this evening, Wednesday, succumbing to his injuries from gunfire by Israeli police in the town of Kabul in the Galilee. His condition had previously been described as critical following the shooting during a chase within the town.
Medical sources reported that the injured person was transported to the "Galilee Medical Center" in Nahariya, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
Local sources stated that "the police chased the young man within the town and opened fire on him", noting that his health condition was "very critical." Clashes erupted between youths and police forces following the incident, which included arrests. Arab 48 website also reported this.
The Israeli police announced in a brief statement that "during an operation for the Border Police in the town of Kabul, gunfire was directed at a suspicious motorcycle rider who did not respond to the police officers' calls to stop," claiming that "the incident is under investigation."
Since the beginning of the year, the total number of murder victims has reached 49, including 23 since the start of this month, and 26 during January. Among the victims are two people shot by Israeli police, three women, and two boys under the age of 18.
The Arab community is witnessing daily protests against the escalating crime and condemning the complicity of the authorities and Israeli police, starting from Sakhnin with a strike, followed by other Arab towns, and two national demonstrations in Sakhnin and Tel Aviv, in addition to a convoy of vehicles that departed from Arab towns to Jerusalem.
The year 2025 recorded an unprecedented toll in murder crimes, reaching 252 Arab fatalities, amidst accusations of police negligence and complicity with organized crime, and failure to provide security and safety for Arab citizens.
