Shamaran Petroleum: Suspension of Oil Production in Duhok Fields in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
SadaNews - Canadian company Shamaran Petroleum announced today the temporary suspension of oil production and pipeline exports from the Atrush and Sarqala fields in Duhok governorate as a precautionary measure due to the deterioration of security conditions in the region.
The company stated in a press release that the decision to suspend operations was made to protect the workers and infrastructure of the fields in light of the geopolitical tensions the region is experiencing, emphasizing that it is continuously monitoring security developments in coordination with its partners in international projects.
The company added that it will resume its activities as soon as it confirms that the situation is stable and a safe environment is available to restart production and exports.
