Trump: Iran Will Pay the Price for Killing American Soldiers

SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran "will pay the price" for killing American soldiers, following the deaths of several U.S. military personnel during combat operations in the past few days.

The number of American soldiers killed in the war against Iran has risen to 17 in the past few days, with the remains of another soldier undergoing examination.

The deaths of two soldiers have been confirmed in an Iranian attack targeting American military personnel in Jordan.

Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform: "Each time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay a multiplied price for it."

He added that "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Daniel Kin have been informed of this directive."

It is still unclear what "directive" Trump issued to the Pentagon, but a U.S. official told Reuters that the United States had already begun transferring additional military aircraft, including fighter jets and fuel tankers, to the Middle East prior to the deadly attack in Jordan.

Six American soldiers were killed in March when an Iranian drone targeted a U.S. military facility in Shuaiba Port, Kuwait.

Approximately 430 American soldiers have been injured in this conflict so far.

The White House stated that Trump will attend the ceremony for the transfer of the soldiers' remains at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Last week, Trump threatened to expand the range of targets struck in Iran to include power stations and bridges, send ground troops to capture Kharg Island, a major Iranian oil export hub, and bomb the underground "Mountain of Axe" nuclear site.

Sources told Reuters that the latest U.S. airstrikes on Iran, aimed at opening the Strait of Hormuz, also target Iranian military capabilities that the United States wishes to destroy before carrying out more complex operations against Tehran.
