Israeli President Talks with King of Bahrain About Regional Developments

SadaNews - Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke today, Sunday, with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, about regional developments.

According to a statement issued by the Israeli president, he "just had a conversation with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The king initiated this conversation and announced it."

Israeli reports noted that this is the first Bahraini announcement of contact with Israel since October 7, 2023.

Herzog stated, according to the statement: "During our conversation, we discussed enhancing friendship and developing relations between Israel and Bahrain, as well as the importance of the 'Abraham Accords,' led by the United States, in promoting security, stability, and prosperity throughout the Middle East. We also discussed recent developments and the importance of cooperation and dialogue among the countries in the region."

He emphasized that "Bahrain is an important partner in shaping the future of the Middle East. I congratulated the king on his wise leadership and keen vision, and I expressed my appreciation for his contribution to establishing peace and stability, as well as cooperation between our countries."

The Bahrain News Agency reported that "a phone call took place between King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Israeli President Isaac Herzog."

It added that "during the call, international and regional developments were discussed, along with the bilateral relations between the two countries within the framework of the 'Abraham Accords,' which aim to bring security, stability, and prosperity to the region."
