Ambassador Aref Calls for Recognition of the State of Palestine during Meeting with Deputy Chair of the Social Democratic Party Parliamentary Bloc

SadaNews - The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Germany, Lyth Aref, briefed the Deputy Chair of the Social Democratic Party, Parliament Member Syntia Muller, on the latest political and field developments amid the ongoing Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, along with the continuous crimes and violations against the Palestinian people.

During his meeting with Muller at the Federal Parliament (Bundestag), Ambassador Aref emphasized the necessity of intensifying international efforts to halt the continuous crimes committed by the occupation, including settler terrorism, and called for practical steps to support initiatives aimed at opening a serious political horizon that leads to ending the occupation and establishing an independent State of Palestine, based on the decisions of international legitimacy.

He also reviewed the efforts made in preparing for legislative elections, stressing the importance of providing conditions that guarantee the Palestinian people their democratic right to participate across all territories of the State of Palestine, in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Ambassador Aref reiterated his call for the recognition of the State of Palestine, considering that recognition constitutes an acknowledgment of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and is a political step that represents an important contribution to protecting the two-state solution and enhancing the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace, in line with international law and United Nations resolutions.
