The producer price index for locally consumed goods during May 2026
The producer price index for locally consumed goods from domestic production recorded a sharp decline of 7.06%, reaching 210.74 in May 2026 compared to 226.75 in April 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
The producer price index for exported goods during May 2026
The producer price index for exported goods from domestic production recorded a sharp decline of 2.59%, reaching 117.23 in May 2026 compared to 120.35 in April 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
Producer Price Movements in Main Activities During May 2026
Prices for goods produced from agriculture, forestry, and fishing, which represent a relative importance of 29.94% of the producer basket, recorded a sharp decline of 10.80% due to the severe drop in prices of goods within the non-permanent crops activity by 16.77%. The average prices were as follows: local long-grain wheat 78.24 NIS/50kg, barley 95.99 NIS/50kg, cauliflower 2.91 NIS/kg, molokhia 5.34 NIS/kg, plastic house tomatoes 4.59 NIS/kg, plastic house cucumbers 3.09 NIS/kg, zucchini 4.98 NIS/kg, eggplant 3.39 NIS/kg, hot green pepper 12.63 NIS/kg, sweet green pepper 5.15 NIS/kg, okra 25.35 NIS/kg, gherkin 3.75 NIS/kg, green beans 5.83 NIS/kg, green cowpeas 5.37 NIS/kg, yellow corn ear 5.76 NIS/kg, dry garlic 6.53 NIS/kg, dry onions 1.98 NIS/kg, and potatoes 2.39 NIS/kg.
The prices of goods within the permanent crops activity decreased by 0.86%, with average prices as follows: grapes 6.06 NIS/kg, oranges 3.76 NIS/kg, clementines 2.96 NIS/kg, lemons 6.22 NIS/kg, pomelo 4.32 NIS/kg, and local peaches 3.90 NIS/kg.
Prices of goods within the livestock production activity recorded a decrease of 0.81%, with average prices for live broiler chickens at 11.25 NIS/kg and eggs 11.80 NIS/carton (size 2 kg), despite an increase in the average price of live local calves at 26.10 NIS/kg and live local lambs at 49.74 NIS/kg.
The prices of goods within the fishing sector increased by 0.27% during May 2026 compared to the previous month.
Prices of goods produced from manufacturing activities, which represent a relative importance of 58.92% of the producer basket, recorded a decrease of 0.56%, due to a decrease in average prices of goods produced within the following activities: grain mill products by 12.28%, production of vegetable and animal oils and fats by 1.00%, manufacturing of types of concrete, cement, and plaster by 0.72%, basic iron and steel production by 0.27%, and prepared animal feed production by 0.25%, despite an increase in average prices of goods produced within the following activities: bakery products by 3.77% and beverages by 3.00%.
Prices for water supply, sewage activities, waste management, and treatment, which represent a relative importance of 1.50% of the producer basket, increased by 2.56% during May 2026.
The prices of products from the mining and quarrying sector, which represent a relative importance of 1.41% of the producer basket, increased by 1.08% during May 2026 compared to the previous month.
Prices for the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply group, which represent a relative importance of 8.23% of the producer basket, recorded a slight increase of 0.06% during May 2026 compared to the previous month.
