Al-Shara: Israel seeks to turn Syria into an unending chaos arena
SadaNews - Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara condemned Israel's attempts to destabilize the southern Syrian regions.
The Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel reported Al-Shara as saying: "The Israeli entity is once again seeking to turn our pure land into an arena of unending chaos, through which it aims to dismantle the unity of our people and weaken our capabilities to move forward in the journey of rebuilding and rising."
He also added, "Syria is not a testing ground for external conspiracies nor a place to implement the ambitions of others."
Al-Shara's remarks came after Israeli forces invaded the villages of Abedin, Jumla, and Tal al-Maghar in the southern Daraa governorate, which were subjected to artillery shelling and helicopter airstrikes yesterday, Monday.
"Al-Ikhbariya" reported that local residents resisted the Israeli forces, which established checkpoints in their villages.
The civil defense reported several injuries and material damages due to the shelling. On June 29, the Syrian Foreign Ministry sent a message to the UN Security Council regarding the Israeli military operations in the southern Daraa and Quneitra governorates, which are considered violations of the disengagement agreement between Israeli and Syrian forces in the Golan Heights, signed in 1974."
