SadaNews Clarifies the Truth Behind Israeli News on Military Operations in the West Bank

Translation by Sada News - News websites and pages on social media platforms have recently reported a story about the Israeli army deploying 26 military battalions to the West Bank.

These sites and platforms claimed that the Israeli army plans to carry out a large-scale military operation targeting the camps in the West Bank.

They attributed the source of the news to the i24 French international channel, which broadcasts from Israel in several languages including French, English, Hebrew, and Arabic.

The "Hebrew Translation" section of "Sada News" investigated the source of the news and found that it was only presented on the French channel in its Arabic language and was not mentioned in Hebrew or any of its other languages.

It turned out that the primary source of the news is Channel 14 in Hebrew, but the news did not actually state what was mentioned in the Arabic-speaking channel.

Channel 14 is known for being far-right and has a reputation for frequently publishing exaggerated news that has not been accurate on numerous occasions.

According to the report published by the channel last Wednesday, the Israeli military institution will intensify its efforts in the coming months within the West Bank, especially with the approaching holidays, and that forces from the Paratroopers Brigade will be transferred alongside other forces from the Nahal Brigade and the Home Front Command, which will raise the number of forces operating in the area to about 26 battalions.

It indicated that ongoing operations in the northern camp areas will be expanded to include others in the upcoming period with the aim of intensifying operations to pursue and arrest wanted individuals and dismantle any military cells.

It also noted previous statements by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, in which he discussed that his forces would continue their operations inside the camps in the northern West Bank and would work wherever necessary to eradicate "terrorism."

However, the channel did not indicate that the operation in the West Bank would extend from the northern to the southern West Bank and would cover all areas of the West Bank, as rumored in other reports.

In fact, it has recently been observed that the occupation forces have intensified their arrest operations in various parts of the West Bank.

Additionally, some camps in the northern West Bank, specifically Jenin and Tulkarem, have been subjected to a wide operation for more than a year and a half, during which dozens have been killed, injured, and arrested, and thousands of residents have been displaced and homes destroyed.
