Palestinian Statistics: GDP in Palestine Decreased by 8% in the First Quarter of 2026

SadaNews - The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Palestine has decreased by 8% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, affected by the repercussions of the Israeli occupation's aggression on Palestine. This was accompanied by a decline in the West Bank economy by 8%.

Preliminary estimates indicate a decrease in the GDP in Palestine during the first quarter of 2026 by 8% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025. Most economic activities recorded a decline in value added, with the construction sector witnessing a decrease of 17%, the public administration and defense by 16%, the mining, manufacturing, and water and electricity sectors by 12%, the services sector by 4%, and agriculture, forestry, and fishing activity by 3%. The GDP value in the West Bank during the first quarter of 2026 reached 2,789 million USD, while in the Gaza Strip it was 167 million USD.

Per capita GDP in Palestine at constant prices was 545 USD during the first quarter of 2026, marking a decrease of 9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025. The per capita GDP in the West Bank decreased by 9% compared to the same period, while in the Gaza Strip, it dropped by 6% compared to the same period.
