With the Participation of Moroccan Artisans: The "Bayt Mal Al-Quds" Agency Launches a Training Week to Develop Traditional Crafts in Jerusalem
SadaNews - The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency launched the activities of the "Training Week on Moroccan Traditional Crafts," as part of its program "Community Initiatives for Human Development in Jerusalem," under the supervision of the agency's managing director, Mohamed Echarkawi.
The training week will be hosted by the "Al-Alya" institution in Jerusalem, featuring a group of elite Moroccan artisans specialized in textile arts, wood carving, and silver crafting, to share their rich experiences with Jerusalem artisans and young people interested in traditional professions.
The program includes practical training sessions and theoretical classes focusing on developing handcrafted products, raising quality standards, and learning modern marketing mechanisms, including e-marketing and ways to access foreign markets.
The significance of this week lies in enabling Jerusalem artisans to acquire high-value added skills, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of their products and creating sustainable income sources for Jerusalemite families, as well as opening networking opportunities with Moroccan craftsmen to benefit from pioneering experiences in valorizing cultural heritage.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency works to implement the instructions of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, the Chairman of the Jerusalem Committee, to serve the holy city, support the capabilities of Jerusalemites, and enhance their resilience, by mobilizing all available material resources and investing them in advancing human development programs in Jerusalem.
