Collaborative Efforts of Jerusalem Water Authority and Municipalities of Birzeit, Ajjul, Aroura, and Deir Sudan to Ensure Water Sustainability

SadaNews - As part of its continuous efforts to enhance water supply sustainability and mitigate the impact of the water crisis during the summer season, the General Director of the Jerusalem Water Authority, engineer Thayer Jloud, conducted a field tour that included local authorities in Birzeit, Ajjul, Aroura, and Deir Sudan, to closely examine the water reality in these areas, identify the main challenges facing citizens, and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation with local bodies.

The delegation from the authority included, in addition to engineer Jloud, the Director of Subscriber Services Ahmed Draghmeh, the Director of Water Resources Engineer Mohammed Abu Ayash, and the Director of Media and Public Relations Fares Malaki.

The delegation held a meeting with the Mayor of Birzeit, Firas Barbar, in the presence of several members of the municipal council, where they reviewed the water supply situation in the town, listened to the main challenges facing subscribers, and discussed possible interventions and measures to alleviate the water crisis during the summer period, thus contributing to improving the level of service provided to citizens.

The delegation also met with the Head of the Ajjul Village Council, Karim Issa, in the presence of several members of the village council, where they were briefed on the water reality in the village and discussed mechanisms to enhance cooperation and coordination between both parties to serve the citizens and contribute to developing the level of services provided to them.

In another stop on the tour, the delegation held a meeting with the Head of the Aroura Village Council, Ali Al-Khasib, in the presence of several members of the village council, where they discussed the water supply situation in the village, reviewed the main needs and challenges, and emphasized the importance of continued joint coordination to address priority issues.

The delegation also visited the Deir Sudan Village Council, where they met with the Head of the Village Council, Raafat Ahmed, in the presence of several members of the village council. During the meeting, they reviewed the status of water services in the village, discussed key challenges and needs related to water supply, and explored ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination to improve the level of services provided to citizens and strengthen the sustainability of water supply.

Engineer Thayer Jloud affirmed during the meetings that the Jerusalem Water Authority continues to work according to available resources to ensure water supply sustainability, noting that addressing the challenges of the summer season requires integrated efforts between the authority, local bodies, and citizens, contributing to improving the management of water resources and responding to increasing needs.

At the end of the tour, participants emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation and joint coordination between the authority and local bodies to ensure the provision of the best services to citizens and improve the quality of water services. The authority also urged citizens to contact the unified call center at 128 to report any observations or complaints, ensuring prompt response and benefiting from the electronic services provided by the authority through its smartphone application, which allows for completing many services easily and quickly.
