Arrest of Four Individuals Including a Woman from the Atta'iqah Family in Rahat
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation police arrested four individuals, including a woman from the Atta'iqah family, in the city of Rahat in the Negev region of southern Israel, following a raid on their homes this morning, Wednesday.
In the details, Rahat city council member, Suleiman Atta'iqah, stated that "Israeli police forces raided our homes in Rahat and arrested my son, Muhammad, and my relatives, Thaer and Mahiran Abdul Karim Atta'iqah, as well as a woman from the family this morning. As usual, they will try to fabricate baseless charges against us."
He added that "the police took my four relatives for interrogation at six o'clock this morning, and we have informed the lawyer assigned to defend our case to follow up on the matter."
Atta'iqah emphasized that "the repeated arrests carried out by the police against us are part of a series of pressures and persecutions aimed at breaking us and instilling despair in us."
He noted that his political activities, including participation in public movements and demonstrations against violence and crime, in addition to issues of house demolitions and the imposition of fines amounting to about one million and six hundred thousand shekels on eight houses, along with the interrogation of his son Ahmad a few days ago, are behind these arrests.
As of the time of preparing this news, there has been no official comment from the police regarding the circumstances of the arrests or the charges against the detainees.
