Occupation Forces Demolish Two Houses in Al-Zarazir

SadaNews - Israeli occupation machinery and bulldozers demolished two houses early Thursday morning in the village of Al-Zarazir in the Galilee region, belonging to the Jawamis family; one was inhabited while the other was under construction.

 

Local sources reported that a large force of police and special units accompanied the demolition operation, as they deployed around the targeted houses, enforcing a tight security cordon, preventing residents from accessing the area or moving through nearby streets during the execution.

In a related context, a police helicopter hovered over the village since early morning, a scene that residents described as unusual, causing a state of tension and anger among the population.

This operation comes amidst a noticeable escalation in the policy of demolishing homes in Arab towns over the past few years, as Israeli authorities intensify the implementation of demolition orders under the pretext of unlicensed construction, while these towns suffer from systematic constraints on planning and building and a lack of appropriate structural maps.

Activists and local leaders affirm that this policy contributes to deepening the housing crisis, exacerbating tensions, and serves as a means of collective pressure on Arab citizens instead of finding fair and comprehensive solutions to the chronic planning crisis.
