Al-Qaisum and Tarabin Al-Sana'a Submit Petition to the Supreme Court Against Police Campaign and Demand to Prevent Ben-Gvir from Entering the Town

SadaNews - The Al-Qaisum Regional Council and the leadership of the Tarabin Al-Sana'a town in the Negev, southern Israel, submitted a petition to the Supreme Court today, Tuesday, against the Israeli police and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, demanding the cessation of the ongoing security campaign in the town for more than a week.

The petition stated that "the campaign implemented by the police constitutes collective punishment and infringes on the basic rights of the residents," emphasizing that what is happening goes beyond the framework of law enforcement and directly affects civilians.

The petitioners requested the court to issue an order obligating the police to remove the concrete blocks placed at the entrances and streets of the town, lift the restrictions imposed on the movement of citizens, and prevent Minister Ben Gvir from visiting the town until the petition is resolved.

The petition also highlighted the extensive arrests conducted, house searches, and the use of crowd dispersal methods by the police that caused physical harm to citizens, as well as preventing ambulances from entering in some emergency cases.

Furthermore, the petition addressed the killing of citizen Muhammad Hussein Tarabin Al-Sana'a, a father of seven children, by police gunfire during an attempted arrest at his home, an incident that triggered widespread anger in the Negev and among the Arab community in general.
