Popular Federations of the Palestinian Liberation Organization in Sweden Commemorate International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
SadaNews - The popular federations of the Palestinian Liberation Organization in Sweden commemorated, this Saturday, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls on November 29 each year, through a comprehensive cultural and national program that reflects the presence of the Palestinian community and its interaction with this international occasion.
The activities were hosted by the ABF Swedish Association in Stockholm, organized jointly by the Palestinian Community Federation, the Workers' Union, and the Palestinian Women's Union – Bisan Association, with wide participation from community members and a number of Swedish supporters.
The program began with a welcoming speech delivered by Ms. Areeb Al-Aloul, in which she emphasized the significance of this day in shedding light on the just rights of the Palestinian people, followed by a artistic performance by the young musician Noor Badra, who presented artistic works in the rap genre, expressing the suffering and resilience of the Palestinian people.
The program included the screening of two films; the first focused on Palestinian embroidery as an integral part of identity and folk heritage, while the second film, a documentary titled "Gaza - Until the Last Breath," produced by Swedish television, featured live testimonies from inside the Gaza Strip during the war and genocide. This was followed by a short discussion with the audience about its content and messages.
Ms. Najat Al-Dajani delivered a lecture in English addressing the breaches of international resolutions by the Israeli occupation and the continuation of illegal settlement policies, while Ms. Anam Al-Awaini moderated a discussion featuring a representative from the Swedish Left Party, alongside Mr. Abdul Salam Al-Aloul and Ms. Susan Maqbul. The session focused on ways to support Swedish citizens of Palestinian descent to improve their conditions within Swedish society and enhance their ability to support their relatives in Palestine. The session was also interspersed with interventions and questions from the audience.
In a special heritage segment, the women of the Bisan Association, accompanied by a group of young women, presented a Palestinian fashion show that illuminated the aesthetics and authenticity of the national dress. Additionally, a photo exhibition documenting aspects of the suffering of the Palestinian people was held alongside the event, as well as an exhibition of handmade embroidered products featuring the works of Mr. Ahmad Al-Qumhawi.
The event concluded in a festive atmosphere that expressed pride in Palestinian identity, renewing the affirmation of the importance of continuing to convey the Palestinian narrative to the world and enhancing efforts aimed at establishing international solidarity with the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
