Palestine Signs United Nations Convention on Cybercrime "Hanoi Convention"
SadaNews - Today, Saturday, the State of Palestine officially signed the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime during a ceremony held in the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, attended by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Luong Cuong, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and a large number of heads of delegations, representatives of countries, and international organizations.
The signing was conducted by Ambassador Riad Mansour, the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, reaffirming Palestine's deep commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at building a safe and humane digital space.
In this context, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Saadi Al-Tamizi, expressed pride in Palestine's participation in this prominent international event, praising the effective role played by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in hosting and organizing this important international conference, which represents a pioneering step towards enhancing international cooperation to combat cybercrime and safeguard human dignity in the digital space.
Ambassador Al-Tamizi affirmed that the Hanoi Convention represents "a new international charter to consolidate values of justice, responsibility, and mutual cooperation in our digital world," stressing that the State of Palestine will continue to support all international initiatives aimed at protecting humanity, enhancing security, peace, and development in the digital age.
