Fatah: The sweeping victory of the movement in the elections for the Palestinian Bar Association is a public referendum on the correctness of the movement's approach and its national project
SadaNews - The Palestinian National Liberation Movement, "Fatah", affirmed that the sweeping victory of the "Jerusalem and National Constants" bloc affiliated with the movement in the Palestinian Bar Association Elections for the (2025-2028) term, winning 8 out of 9 seats, is a public referendum on the correctness of the movement's approach, its choices, and its political and struggle program.
Fatah clarified in a statement issued by the Commission for Media, Culture, and Intellectual Mobilization today, Sunday, that this victory, in addition to winning all seats in the engineering syndicate and universities and all unions in the recent elections, expresses the movement's historic commitment to the democratic approach and the ballot box as the decisive factor in the selection of our people’s representatives.
It added that the results of the elections for the Palestinian Bar Association, which took place in an atmosphere characterized by free voting and freedom of electoral campaigning for all competing electoral lists, reflect the commitment of our people and its living and active forces, including trade union forces that form a pillar in uplifting our people's choices and the movement's approach as the historical backbone of the national project and its leader.
It pointed out that this victory coincides with the genocide that our people is facing from the brutal Israeli war in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including the capital Jerusalem since October 7, noting that this victory, with its historical and vital implications, confirms the pioneering and historical role of the movement in preserving the democratic approach since its inception.
Fatah expressed its pride and tribute to our people's masses in the homeland and the diaspora, particularly to the Palestinian lawyers as the guardians of justice and rights, and defenders of our people's rights, who engaged in the union elections committed to the movement's principles and visions, and expressing extraordinary awareness regarding the existential threats and conspiracies targeting their national rights, dedicating this victory to the souls of our people's martyrs, detainees, and wounded across all governorates of the homeland.
It pledged to continue the national struggle until our people's national rights are achieved and the independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty and its capital Jerusalem is realized.
Fatah clarified that the movement’s commitment to conducting elections in various forms despite the extremely complex and sensitive political conditions comes as a continuation of the democratic approach and a preservation of our people’s right to choose and elect their representatives in councils, bodies, and unions.
